Our Foundation Story

In 2007, Andy and Nina Reinhart met Elena and Harshul Gupta at Asheville Sun Soo Martial Arts, where their sons, Joseph Reinhart and Karan Gupta, trained in taekwondo. The families quickly became close friends, and in 2009, they decided to co-found RGEES LLC.

The name RGEES stands for Reinhart and Gupta Energy Efficiency Systems,” and the company was officially registered in June 2009. With a focus on innovating sustainable thermal comfort systems, RGEES also registered the trademark savENRG to reflect the mission behind its products and services. The company’s journey began at the ABTech Business Incubator, where its initial product development focused on the application of PCM (Phase Change Material) technology in commercial structures like office buildings and greenhouses.
